When did merely stating the truth become "arrogant"?

Ah, yes...the liberals don't want to harm anyone's "feelings", right?

No it is not a sin to say that you are the best at doing something.
But it is a sin to think that you are better than everyone else because of whatever it is that you are so good at doing.
We are to remain humble and by doing this we will continue to learn and improve in everything that we do and people will want to be around us and learn from our example.
I'm sure everyone would argee that Michael Jordan is probably the best and maybe he thinks so as well.
But that doesn't make him better than anyone else it just makes him great at what he does.
Pride is a sin and is what caused God's most cherished angel to fall and so God despises sin more than any other.
He knows how destructive it is and how it ruines us.
That's why being humble is so important.
I try and find things in others that their great at doing and I tell them about it.
Sometimes they don't even realize what their good at and when it's pointed out to them they are surprised and happy and encouraged to continue doing what their best at.
But there's always room for improvement in whatever it is that we do.
Learning is eternal,we never stop learning as long as we acknowledge that we don't know everything and never will.
But the proud would never say that, they will say that they already know everything and therefore will never learn anything new becomming ignorant and misinformed.
Don't listen to fools.
Even Jesus says that we are not to listen to the simpleton or the immoral.
If a person is speaking foolishness walk away and leave them.
You cannot reason with a simpleton.
If a Liberal wants you to think you are sinning tell him or her to take a good look at themself before they judge you.
Then walk away.

Being a country isn't participating in a football game. No one "wins" in the end. It is all based upon ideals and faith in those ideals. If this were a competition, what would you use as a measuring stick for success? Length of time as a country? Egypt, China or India seem to have the upper hand there. Most military might? The USA wins, easily. Most politically stable country? You got me...Switzerland? Most potential for economic growth? China, Russia? Most powerful economy (currently)? USA.

Best is probably not an absolute. For example, we are not best in infant mortality or life exptancy. We are one of only two major industrialized nations that still allows the death penalty. We are losing manufacturing jobs and the disparity between working peoples salaries and ceo salaries is steadily growing to levels where it was in the early parts of the 20th century. The middle class is steadily losing ground.

I love our country and part of loving her is recognizing her flaws and working to make them better. It's almost mothers day, where would you be today if your mom had just said, oh, he's perfect as he is, I won't bother trying to train him to be better...

Of course it is arrogant. And arrogance leads to events like 9/11. We can no longer afford to be arrogant in the world today. We must be on guard because, regardless of how great and powerful we are, there are those people who can and will cause destruction and loss of life within our borders. The recent capture of the 6 terrorists in New Jersey is proof of this point.

We don't need to say a word. The fact that people in other countries are falling all over themselves to get here is proof enough.

It is clear to me that you need to read (or watch) Guns, Germs, and Steel. Here is a link:

I think this is an emergency, and you should leave now to go buy it.

I don't think you understand the factors that lead to Western dominance, and where we are headed. Our country is actually devolving, and "lesser" nations are evolving physically and intellectually at amazing rates. Fascinating.

If you are the best, others will say so. If you constantly go around claiming to be the best, yes, it is arrogant.
