It has nothing to do with being a parent, although your parents may indeed, be baby boomers.

A baby boomer is someone who was born during the period immediately following the Second World War up until 1960. Families were, generally speaking, larger than they typically are now. Therefore, there was a BOOM in the number of babies. More children were born during this period than any other in American history.

Consequently, within the next 10 years, half of the people in the United States will be age 60 or older.

You don't have to be a parent to be a Baby boomer. You have to have been born during that time in history. Boomers are now the largest segment of the population and we're aging quickly so you get to pay for our nursing homes!

The baby boomers refer to the generation from around 1940 - 1960. After the war was over lots of babies were being born and thats where the name stemmed.

Baby boomers now would be in their 50s or 60s now. They are also the generation known for spending all their money so the kids have nothing, and driving around in their sports cars trying to look younger... lol

there was a baby boom right after WWII. that means there was a significant increase in births because the soldiers came home to their wives and girlfriends and celebrated.
