There is a lot of difference between the modern scientific description and the ancient description of earth, sun and moon. The modern science says that the earth is not flat and it revolves round the sun.
The Jain literature or any ancient literature gives very different picture of these. Does it mean that the ancient books are no more valid?

They were not valid in the past. They are not valid now.

Of course, the modern books are closer to the truth, but there is still a lot to learn.

Earth being round is proved beyond any doubt. We need to accept whatever is scientifically proved rather than attach sentiments to ancient books. On the other hand there has been astoundingly accurate calculations regarding timing of sunrise, sunset, full moon, new moon, solar/lunar eclipse etc in the ancient scripts which are to be appreciated.
