If you are talking about the band i respect most... it would be The Beatles for their career... these guys released more than 40 different singles, albums, and EPs that reached number one. By 1985 they had sold over one billion discs and tapes worldwide and in 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Beatles #1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. And about the song it would be While My Guitar Gently Weeps! (I never listen to any other song for these guys!! :D)
Led Zeppelin (Favorites: Stairway To Heaven (which by the way is considered the best solo ever), Battle of Evermore and Kashmir), Pink Floyd [These guys made the best album ever: The Wall] (Favorites: Another Brick in the Wall: All Parts, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, Hey You, In The Flesh, Wish Were You Here (Entire Album) and some stuff from The Wall like Goodbye Cruel World), AC/DC (Favorite: High Voltage), Deep Purple (Favorite: Smoke On The Water), i.e. the old school are ones i respect very much!!
There are some other people i respect like Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Edith Piaf and of course the one and only Elvis Presley... and a lot others... but i guess i consider these to be the best although i dont listen to them often... actually i rarely listen to these guys! As for arabic songs i would say Amr Diab, Mohamed Mounir, Abd El Halim are the best guys...
And of course, i will not forget the classics... Mozart, Beethoven, Carl Orff, Rachmaninoff and all these guys... made great pieces of music... i adore Oh Fortuna!! WONDERFUL!
If you are talking about the band i love most... it would be Opeth. About the song, it would be To Bid You Farewell (Clean vocals and could be considered Rock) and Ghost of Perdition (Death Metal). As for my favourite it would be Face of Melinda...
After Opeth comes Savatage, Anathema, Gregorian, Dido (I adore her voice), Tracy Chapman, Draconian (their Burning Halo is wonderful), Within Tempation and a lot others!!
