The same amount of money you send to a illreputed tabloid to save one life, can be used to save several childrens lives by donating it to the International Red Cross.

Might sound a bit crass but it's true. If you want to save people by throwing money at a problem that's a better avenue.

There's more than enough cash being offered in this case. her parents are wealthy and could well have afforded adequate child care throughout the holiday if they really wanted time on their own, or at least during the evenings while they found it necessary to be out and about wining and dining.
They seem to be well connected, apparently the father is well known in the Scottish football world which is why we are seeing so many celebrity appeals and I'm sure their celebrity circle of friends will put up even more money.
I saw on the news this morning, a native Portuguese family whose own son was kidnapped twelve years ago. Understandably they are very angry and hurt that only three policemen investigated their sons disappearance.
Throwing money at this issue is not going to bring her back, but as has been stated previously, it may well cause a rise in future abductions if people think there is a monetary reward involved.

It is good of all the celebs and the businesses to put towards the reward. it now stands at £2.5m that is £1.5m from News of the world and £1m from the business man in Scotland plus other amounts given. The reward will be nearly £3m by the time they have finished. I say that money will not bring her happiness ever again nor will it bring her family.

While I would happily give towards helping little Maddie, if the "News of the world" have posted a reward of that size, then they don't need our help. They stand to make a lot more out of it. I think our prayers are what's needed here, and I do pray that she is found safe and well.

No chance. Not only do I not particularly care, the media are milking this to get money. Do not for a moment think they actually care about her safe return. This story will make so much money for them and you can be sure they will make at least £3 million of this story.

As far as I can tell, Maddy was abducted, not kidnapped. If she was kidnapped, surely somebody would have asked for ransom money by now. I don't think that "they" have any intention of returning her no matter how much is offered.
I still pray for her safe return.

I am not really in favour of rewards. I mean the only people who would know where she is have had something to do with it, and I dont think they should ever get money.

I think it encourages future kidnappings to announce big payouts and it would be far better for the press etc to say nothing and let the police get on with their jobs.~~

i quite agree with 'burning'.this is already happening with kidnapped pets, demanding ££ for their return.
personally i think they should have made the initial appeal directly to the kidnappers and not so much media hype which may have had a more positive result.

yes of course i will, as a parent myself it is absolutley heart breaking to think of what could be happening to her, i try to keep that out of my head and hope that she is with a childless couple rather than a paedophile. but at the end of the day we should do all we can to find her. I have to stop myself from thinking that could be my daughter, everyone should do what they can. bless you.
