I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it
myself a couple times unintentionally... but this one is real, and it's
important. So please send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks
due to the warm weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance
around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!! THIS IS A SCAM!! They only
want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

You are correct - it's the typical fake check or check overpayment scam Craigslist is ONLY for FACE to FACE transactions paid IN CASH. Anything else and you will always get scammed Nobody is going to buy an expensive medical device without first inspecting it to make sure it works. And nobody is sending a "moving company" to pick up a medical device DO NOT cash that check for any reason -- if you do YOU will owe your bank the full amount of the check when it bounces (and it will bounce in 3-4 weeks) and YOU will be investigated for bank fraud Tell him you do not accept any checks. Tell him that his moving company can bring cash with them when they pick up the item. OR that the ONLY other payment you will accept is a USPS Money Order. This can only be bought from a Post Office and you cash it at the Post Office - and they can tell right there if it's counterfeit or not. Any other check or money order cannot be verified on the spot and can take weeks until it comes back as counterfeit But honestly I would never sell to anyone who can't meet in person and hand over good hard cash DO NOT accept the check -- they will send it through UPS, FedEx, etc. DO NOT sign for it. Tell the driver you are refusing delivery and they have to return to sender. Once you sign for it, the scammer knows where you live. You also don't want to be caught with a counterfeit check on your property -- there is nothing preventing them from anonymously calling the police to report you are running a fake check operation

lmao. you ever laugh at something so stupid sounding. and you were laughing more at the person for saying it because if they only thought about it for a minute before they said it they would of realized it was stupid. ya thats what I just did..
