I've recently moved into a new house and am trying to figure out what could've caused a rash to break out all over my body. We have a pool that seems to be heavily chlorinated but several of my friends have gone swimming and I'm the only one to break out. Could this be caused by the chlorine or maybe the chemicals from the carpet cleaner in the house??? The rash is on my neck, chest, stomach, and on the backs of my legs and it ITCHES. Thanks for your help!

it could be chlorine but if you dont go in cold water often, (swimming, beach,or cold showers) then you could acctually be allergic to the temperature of the water. my brothers girlfriend is alergic to cold water and i have a friend who's allergic to hot water. im not makeing this up, its odd but you could be allergic to cold water,it causes a rash like the one you describe.

First off congrats on the house and i hope all is well with the wedding. As for the rash It is like the pool chlorine is too high. Get a chemical tester and make sure your chlorine levels are where they are suppose to be. If in doubt call in a professional pool guy to get you started and give you the basic knowledge of where the chemicals should be and how to get them there.

I harldy think it's from your carpet unless you rolled around in it prior to it drying. Was there anything that you ate before entering the pool? I am thinking that you possibly could have the hives and I can imagine how much it itches. Anyways you are experiencing an allergic reaction to something; it could be the pool or it could be to something that you ate, or plain and simple you have very sensitive skin. I hope for your sake you have a doctor look at it.
(Congrats on the new house)

you have natural things that live on your body - chlorination will kill them, and allow something else to grow there

so contribute to the cause of the rash- Probably

And like Antibiotics will kill the flora and stuff in your digestive system - so will chlorinated water - it is POWERFUL

That's why I drink filtered water so that when I eat this yogurt
with probitics - it doesn't get killed by the chlorine

savvy - and yes - I have a chlorine filter on my shower, too

best of luck

some thing as generalised as this sounds like it could be chlorine or carpet cleaner - it may mean ellimination trial and error to work it out.
