Were you on your feel a lot the day before? Did you wear a new pair of shoes yesterday? Either of these could cause foot pain the next day. Depending on your age, you might also have arthritis which is usually at its worst when you first wake up but usually lets up once you're active for a little while. Not knowing anything else about you (like your age, weight or occupation/activities) it's hard to say. Hope you feel better.

Short answer is that you are getting a "charlie horse" that is from a lack of calcium in your diet. They are easily cured by two things stand up and rock up onto the balls of your feet. do this about 10 times. Then walk to the fridge and drink some milk. This is the short term cure. The long term is to drink a glass of room temperature milk every night before bed. That will prevent further occurrences, and promote sounder sleep. Hope you try these solutions and feel better.

Really it would depend on the pain, is this a common experience or just the once? Is it a sharp pain, does it last? is it an ache? It could simply be a cramp, it could be much worse, a blood clot,

Sometimes we can get a cramp in our feet too if we stay in one position too long. I've had this happen before. If this continues to be problematic then please get in touch with your dr to have them evaluate the situation to see what they think could be causing this. I do have one question though.
