I'm currently attending med school and there's this guy in my class who I've been dating for the past 4 months. Well, I go up to talk to him at school today, and he totally ignores me and doesn't even look at me. And then he sends me this email "we need to talk." And then he comes over and dumps me. I have a twin sister who's also in the same class, and she told me not to start seeing him when I first started school a year ago, but he kept persuing me and I actually took a risk. I should have listened. I am really sad now and can't study or eat. I'm 22 and he's 24 and this was my first relationship. I am a Christian and don't believe in anything pre-marital but he sure does. He told me that he didn't have feelings for me when he broke up with me and that we weren't compatible. Do you think it was my personality? Do guys see good girls as boring? I feel really sick because I have to see him every day in class for the next year and it's really going to affect my studies.

Try not to be offended, but when he said "I don't have feelings for you and we're just not compatible", what he really was saying is "Look, if you're not gonna put out, then why have I been wasting my time?"

It's the sad truth, but this guy is obviously very shallow and doesn't deserve a caring person like yourself. The best thing you can do is to move on and remind yourself that no matter how nice he may have treated you, it was all just a ploy to get into your pants. And you don't need someone who just wants to use you, you're better off without him.

well im sorry that this happened and yea it could have been your personalilty but i dont think thats a bad thing @ all because sometimes relationships dont work out because people are different that doesnt mean anything is wrong w/ you and eventually you will find someone who is compatible w/ you + right 4 you. i think thats the reason why people date around, to find someone right for them, and since it is your first relationship, you havent really gotten that chance. i wouldnt take it personally, and you sound really nice! im a really good girl too, i have a reputation 4 being innocent @ school + i think that it doesnt make us boring, were just more conservative. i would just try to focus on my studies and friends and im sure the right guy 4 you will come along! hope this helps :)

You both have to have the same belief structure in-order for things to work. This is key it's more important than any other compatibility factor. Guys don't see good girls as boring! It usually works the other way around he was probably the only "bad boy" in class I think that is why you were attracted to him look for the "good guys" and you won't have this kind of trouble

It is true that your values are incompatible, and serious incompatibilities break up relationships (and marriages), so that observation sounds reasonable. You haven't presented any evidence that this issue was the primary reason for his dumping you, however.

Overall his behavior sounds cruel to me.
