I'm waiting for the doctor but he says that it will take a few hours for him to be free enough to come to my place??????

What do I do while waiting for the doctor??

My brother has the following symptoms:

Fever(relatively low)
Rashes(it hurts when he drinks lukewarm water due to the rashes in his mouth)
Pain,aches(a bit)
coughing
a bit of everything(according to him)

I'm not completely sure he has Hand foot mouth disease but thr rashes and sores on him are on scary red patches and are very disturbing.

I'm sorry,there was i a typo error.
The rashes and sores are in little patches around his body.

Is this just the beginning of the disease or something else?

Hand foot mouth disease, is produced by a virus (Coxsakie family)....it can be very annoying, and will stay there for about 1 week...better if he stays home until definite diagnosis checking his blood agglutinins is done...its very contagious by saliva etc..
If you have small children at home, the situation will be even worse...
He can wait a full week at home until he is not incectious anymore...
(Would be too inconsiderate of him. to visit you, knowing he is suffering from a contagious however benign disease)

My 2 oldest children got this also when they were young. There were small blister like rashes on their hands and feet and also in their mouths. The doctor gave me ointment for the skin and a purple medecine to paint on the sores in their mouths- I can't remember the name of it now. He said it was from playing in the dirt! It is similiar to the disease cattle get- Hoof and mouth disease.

I would suggest Ibuprofen for the aches and pains and maybe a popsicle to numb the pain in his mouth. My kids were better within a week.

It is very contagious. By the time your hands and feet blister you probably have given it to everybody that is going to get it. It will just run its course.
