There are Christians out there who do not support Bush. I don't believe he was sent by God. I think he was sent by Satan. I don't support anyone who starts wars with people who did not attack them.

Why do so many Christians think Bush was sent by God to run this country?
(If you are a Christian and do not believe Bush was sent by God, I am not referring to you.)

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only Christian (I'm a fundamentalist) who doesn't support Bush.

Dear Anthony,

i think that some Christians out there recognize that the Scriptures teaches us that God gives us men to rule over us and in the United States that would be the President. Now while the Bible does teach that in that sense he was sent by God- the Bible does also teach that Bush will be personally accountable for what he does in that role.

My personal thought is whether or not you are a Christian that supports Bush or is against Bush and the War, you are a Christian first and the Scriptures do teach us to pray for kings and rulers. i agree with Bush on some issues- abortion, etc. but have also found some of his decisions (particularly in regards to the war) to be just BAD decisions (i don't think that means that he was sent from Satan- because God is ultimately in control)... but i think the Scriptures would teach us to pray. Pray for mercy upon him and wisdom from God.

In terms of being the president of a country i am sure there are countless times when you are placed in a position to compromise (sometimes we only get one side of the story ad other times there are facts hidden from the general public) and all the more Bush needs prayer because whether we like it or not- we have to deal with his decisions for another year. i have a girl at my church who is very Anti-Bush and open about it and i always remind her that Bush will have to answer to God one day- and the Bible teaches us that we will be judged by the same measure that we judge others. i don't know about you- but i need plenty of God's mercy and grace...

Anyhow just a way to think about the whole thing. God Bless You.

Kindly,

Nickster

I can only make guesses from how my parents are about Bush. Sure, they believe he's from god, but in the same way that they believe all good things come from god. And they support him because he's definitely a Christian (even if he is a Methodist) and that makes him a good man.

Of course, I don't know if they still think this.

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves."
- Romans 13:1-2

"...the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men."
- Daniel 4:17

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
- 1 Timothy 1:1-2

I know...none of my friends of some form of Christianity or another are supporters, they all think he's an idiot.

Though most that do support him seem to be very Christian...

christians think nearly everything was sent by god. If it wasnt then god "allowed" the debil to do it.

Same thing as random chance really.

because the fool said godspoke to him. Some people believe anyone who speaks to god, the rest of us think he should be committed, Lest face it, if he said Lincoln talked to him, he'd have been impached and locked away long ago.

I don't think Bush was "sent by" anybody. You make it sound like he "descended from heaven" or "ascended from hell." That's just nuts.
