i checked my sound it was fine and i went to my control panel and checked things there ,no one can here me when i try to talk.

Try right-clicking your volume control (the little speaker in the taskbar by the clock). There might be a microphone volume slider. Make sure it's turned up. If you don't see the volume control, there might be an advanced setting you might need to expand -- on mine there isn't, but you never know.

I suppose you checked all of your connections, the microphone is switched on (if necessary), and all that... if all else fails, see if it works on somebody elses computer. If not, I'd return it if possible.

Go to control pannel-->sounds. In the pop up window go to options-->properties. In the popup window select recording and click OK. See whether the microphone select box is checked or not. If not select it.
