For me, Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon & Garfunkel) is one I will always equate with God, because someone once sung it at church.

"You'll Never Walk Alone". the first time I heard that song years ago from the musical Carousel, I was reminded of the love of God and how He promised never to leave us.

Many secular songs have a great deal of meaning for me...

Moonglow, The first song that I danced to with the woman who would become my wife over 42 yrs ago.

Purple People Eater, A silly song I taught my daughters when they were small.

Jailhouse Rock, Just because it was done by "The King"

An "old man" can go on for hours if he takes time to think about a subject like that and you will find that someday you will be able to "wax eloquent" on the songs of your youth...

Yea, I know...

The other day someone gave me a CD of Carrie Underwood cause I felt like listening to country music, It was the first time I heard the song 'Jesus Take the Wheel' and gosh did it ever hit home. It`s probably considered a christian song but I felt like sharing this with you guys anyway.

totally like the song "Everywhere" by michelle branch has a christian meaning to me, even tho she's not a christian artist. Here are the lyrics to the song. (its about some dude that she likes but it sounds sooo christian)

Turn it inside out so I can see
The part of you that's drifting over me
And when I wake you're never there
But when I sleep you're everywhere
You're everywhere

Just tell me how I got this far
Just tell me why you're here and who you are
'Cause every time I look
you're never there
And every time I sleep
you're always there

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know
that makes me believe
I'm not alone
I'm not alone

I recognize the way you make me feel
It's hard to think that
you might not be real
I sense it now, the water's getting deep
I try to wash the pain away from me
Away from me

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know
that makes me believe
I'm not alone
I'm not alone

I am not alone
Whoa, oh, oooh, oh

And when I touch your hand
It's then I understand
The beauty that's within
It's now that we begin
You always light my way
I hope there never comes a day
No matter where I go
I always feel you so

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know
that makes me believe
I'm not alone
'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I catch my breath
it's you I breathe
You're everything I know
that makes me believe
I'm not alone

You're in everyone I see
So tell me
Do you see me?
