I'm with you. It is truly disrespectful to use bad language in public, especially in front of small children, since they're known to repeat just about every word they hear. In the process, people don't realize they're giving a bad example, they're basically telling our kids, "hey, swearing is acceptable!" However, I've noticed that some people are so accustomed to swearing that they're completely unaware they are cussing. If they ever made a reality show, all you'd hear is one word followed by loud obnoxious beeps!

I try to be aware of where I am and talk in a manner that fits that situation. I have to stay that it really burns my buns to be out with my kids and hear some teenage or early 20-something use the f-bomb.
On the other had, I spent six years in the Marine Corps and my husband is still a Marine. I feel like I have heard it all. If we are around those people, then I might let a few words slip, okay run wild.
But, yes, I do agree that profanity is everywhere and it is a real shame.

Yeah, I Do Cuss Myself. But Like A "Sailor" Though. But It Also Depends On Who I'm With. Sort Like A Couple Of My Cousins, They Don't Cuss So I Don't Cuss Around Them. It's Just A Respect Thing With Me, You Know?? Or Even If If Was To Be Spending Time With My Lady, You Know?? Even Then It's Like A.ss, D@mn, And H3ll, You Know??
But If I'm With Some Homeboys, Then Yeah, I'll Say The Other Ones In Our Conversations.

I swear when I'm alone, and, I'm sorry to say, sometimes around my family. But I draw the line at cursing in front of strangers, especially older people and children. As a matter of fact, I just reprimanded some 20-ish people in this very room (a small, public computer room at a large hotel) for swearing quite disgustingly in front of my 5 and 10-year old! The "young woman" (I say in quotes) had the audacity to argue and tell me that I had some nerve, "demeaning [her] like that.".... I'm pretty fed up with "Generation ME" in general. The cursing is just indicative of a larger, self-indulgent attitude and lack of any concept of personal space.

nope. and I don't recommend you to either. It just shows how unintelligent you are and how small of a speach vocabulary and rexicon you have. It shows that they cannot explain a feeling any other way but by a word they heard on television, or while their parents' arguments. After alll, if you use profanity any time, you are damaging not only your own mood, but also other people's mood and day. If you cuss at God and use his name in vain, I suggest you to consider what other people would think if you use their name as a filth word, not speaking of offending people to whome The Lord Jesus Christ is what who they live by. I would like everyone to consider how many positive words they said to someone today. If you use bad language, talking and cussing to yourself, you are even destroying your own body by condemning it, if I understood what you meant by "bad language,

First, people make words and give meanings to them.
Second, people make the decision of what a bad word is.
Third, people make perfectly good words into bad words.
If you are around people who cuss, you will probably cuss. If you are around people who don't cuss, you probably won't.
Go into a bar and go into a church and tell me the results.
Be conscious of the words you say. Some people cuss so much, they don't even realize it, it becomes part of their vocabulary. Try reading and/or adding new words to your vocab.
My father cusses, my brothers cuss. I only say damn, ****, *** in private and only sparingly. I don't cuss at all in public. I only repeat to my family, consciously and as examples, cuss words they use and say how come you never hear me say it when I speak?
People who cuss either have a really limited vocab and can't speak without them or just want to say cuss words.

You know, I try my hardest not to use foul language. I used to cuss like a sailor when I was in high school, then I actually stopped and listened to myself and I realized I sounded well...not ladylike. I know it's an old fashioned notion, but I would like people to think of me as a polite person, not a sailor. I heard it enough from my parents when I was young and if parents feel they want to cuss in front of their children, they can go for it, but they don't need to hear it from strangers.

I try not to,but once in awhile somehing slips out.
Many words , which once were considered profanity or had a sexual connotation are now part of the language.
F@@@ him. Means, don't pay any attention to him. Or, all ####ed up, meaning badly damaged.or, F&&& you. means, I don't want to do it.
Screw it. -I wasted enough time on it,or,
That sucks. someone was treated unfairly.
-
Enough of the english lessons for today.
I agree with you.Especially around kids. They hear you say f- and they think it's ok, as a result you ask little Joey how he likes what you made for dinner, and he replies,"that sucked." or you tell him to clean up his room and he says "F--- you."
Patience, patience! Who did he learn this from??

if curse words were paint, I could paint my house at least sixteen times a day. I hate it too, but I am selective when and how I use it. I am like the dad on "A Christmas Story" I weave tapestries of profanity
