Then how can he be sitting next to God in heaven? Who was he praying to in the Garden? Why does he refer to God as his father rather than himself?

The ONE true God is a TRINITY (three seperate beings eternally united by a single will/nature/essence ) God the son (Jesus) was praying to God the father. Jesus prayed , because he assumed a human nature, Jesus was true man and true God.

The answer I'm giving may not be the best analogy but I think it might get the point accost. Look at "God" like you look at a team. Teams have separate individual players but compose one team. They don't go by their separate names so much as they go by their team name. Such as. A person would say that the St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series last year. They would refer to them by team name, and not individual players names. In the case of God, there is God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. Three separate beings (God heads) one God. Jesus could be with God in Heaven. It's like Jesus is next to the Father. Like son talking to father. Jesus said that those that have seen Him have seen the Father. He also said that He and the Father are one. ...of one accord.

GOD is a SPIRIT. GOD took a part of HIMSELF and made it flesh= Jesus. Jesus came to earth to die for you and I so that we could escape hell.
Jesus was praying to GOD the FATHER in the garden. HE did it partly to show us how to pray and because the travail of what HE was about to go through was more than we could ever understand. Jesus is also the "spoken" Word of GOD. The Bible says that ..."in the beginning, the Word was with GOD and the Word was GOD". Jesus is the spoken word of GOD. In the garden Jesus was reacting like what HE was (at that time) HE was a man. Subject to death. About to have the sins and shame of ALL of humanity, past present and future, put on HIM. HE was innocent but HE had to suffer for us, because we are sinful. IT was the only way to help us. Jesus was a man at that time. A man about to be punished for a LOT of something HE did not do.

The Bible says the Jehovah is the only true God, that Jesus is his Son (first creation), that the holy spirit is God's active force.

"This is what Jehovah has said, the King of Israel and the Repurchaser of him, Jehovah of armies, ‘I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God." -- Isaiah 44:6

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation." -- Colossians 1:15

"....The Father is greater than I am." -- John 14:28

"And I shall have to come down and speak with you there; and I shall have to take away some of the spirit that is upon you and place it upon them, and they will have to help you in carrying the load of the people that you may not carry it, just you alone." -- Numbers 11:17

The trinity is not mentioned in the Bible not even once. More than that, the trinity has pagan origins. The worship of pagan gods (grouped in threes or triads) were common before Jesus was born. We can take as examples the trinitarian groups of Brahma, Siva, and Vishnu from the Indian religion and of Osiris, Isis, and Horus from the Egyptian religion.

He Is God The Father, God The Son, And GOD The HOLY Spirit >>>> "THE Trinity" Jesus says: " I and My Father Are ONE. " John : I0: 30 AS A child, I was told to relate this as unto an egg> The Shell, The White, The Yolk.>>> 3 Parts = ONE EGG! I could relate to that, very well. (smile) Otherwise, there are many things written in the Bible, That Are Beyond Our Understanding (God Says, Our Thoughts are not His Thoughts)..............WE Are To Believe!!

Jesus is not God. At John 10:36, he called himself God's Son, not God.

At John 20:17, Jesus told Mary: "I am ascending to my God and your God."

At Col. 3:1, it says that Christ is seated at the right hand of God. How then could Jesus BE God?

The trinity has confused the minds of millions of people. For instance, Patrone07 above said: "The ONE true God is a TRINITY." Is that what the Bible said? NO! Instead, Jesus said at John 17:3 that his Father is the only true God. How then can Jesus and the holy spirit ALSO be the only true God? Impossible!

John says it Himself in the first chapter. The disciples believed he was God after his resurrection. Thomas after seeing Christ's wounds said ''Your are my Lord and my God.''
Jesus would have rebuked him after that statement was made.
But if you believe the Bible has been changed, then that makes the difference.
May God bless you in Christ's name.

Get this:
Lucian of Samosata was a 2nd century Greek philosopher. This preserved text is obviously satirical, but it's a powerful "extra-biblical source":

The Christians, you know, worship a man to this day -- the distinguished personage who introduced their novel rites, and was crucified on that account... You see, these misguided creatures started with the general conviction that they are immortal for all time, which explains the contempt of death and voluntary self-devotion which are so common among them; and then it was impressed them by their original lawgiver that they are all brothers, from the moment that they are converted, and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws. All this they take quite on faith, with the result that they despise all worldly goods alike, regarding them merely as common property.

GOD is one...All parts of Him lives...God Spoke to the egg inside Mary and the "Living Word" of God caused the egg to begin to grow thus The Power of God fertilized the egg and put life into it...The "human" egg grew as a human being and was born as a human being, yet because "God" spoke the egg into fertilization He was indeed "God" and "Human", thus the "Son of God".

It was the Human body that suffered, that bleed, that died, that rose from the dead, that was changed into a spirit body and ascended into Heaven and yes that changed body is now seated in Heaven as our Savior.

Jesus is the First of the Resurrection and we as Christians will follow in like example when the time comes.

The Bible describes God as having 3 parts - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are 3 distinct entities yet are "one". Sorta like an egg has 3 parts (shell, white, yolk) yet is simply an egg. Our human minds cannot really comprehend the complexity of the Godhead. But if you read the Bible you will find more information. Simply be open to see and understand. I hope you find the answers you are seeking.

Not to sound rude or anything, but.........you are asking a question that will vary depending upon others beliefs. If you really want to know the answer to this question why not read your bible. God will reveal answers to any questions you may have along the way.
If you don't read the bible yourself then you are going to get confused by getting different answers from others.
Just read the word and pray that he will show you in a way that you will understand it.

Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was a great man. Surely, God cannot be human and therefore God cannot have any children. God is One. This means that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) is not God nor is he the son of God.
