Prayer can be student led, but not led by administration. As Christian's we cannot separate the sacred from the secular, because in the eyes of God everything we do needs to be set apart and holy- so therefore, students continue to pray, and parents pray too. I know teachers who pray before school every morning too-

I find no harm in that too... but what if other groups wants to pray other ways? Some rituals that are not exactly very pleasing to the general community? Not harmful, but just offensive to certain people like say they want to dance around a bonfire naked and howl at the sun? ( just a what if...)
I think the govt is doing that to avoid radicals and extremists from exploiting that to cause chaos. So better No particular faith or faiths get the benefit, becoz if it/they do... then its only fair ALL faiths get the same freedom.

Those that have a problem with it are those that do not understand the power in it. It is amazing how people want there children or family to be safe and then when something is wrong they pray then but are against prayer in school. Prayer is what we need now more than ever especially in schools and for our young people.

*mummble mummble dumb *** people mummble mummble* OK, nobody has a problem with pray in school. I had a friend who prayed over her lunch everyday. Muslims need to pray 5 times a day which suggest they might have to do it during school hours. Fine. The law is that the administation and staff can not lead a prayer and the school can not promote any one religion. That I agree with. I don't want somebody coming over the PDA system and telling my kid to believe in an invisible man living in the sky.

If groups want to pray, then there's nothing wrong. But, if the school itself takes time for prayer, then it's a violation of the separation between church and state (unless it's a private school, of course).

Prayer didn't hurt schools before it was removed (by the Supreme Court). How many school attacks were before prayer was removed. How many (including those stopped) after?Nowhere in the Constitution does it say, imply or even hint of separating the christian church from government or schools.(the opposite is true) there is not suppose to be government restriction, control, or any view pro or con of Christianity or any other religion.
People need to read the constitution and the bible and not accept what liberals and anti-christians tell them to believe without even checking out what they are told to believe.

I totally agree!!! God is in the pledge allegiance that we say every single day! A nation under God, but your not allowed to commune with Him during school. I attend a small Christian school, so we pray to open the day, for lunch, and then again to close! i love being able to praise my Creator when ever i want!! Everyone should get that opportunity.

Prayer IS legal in school and I am all for it. The only thing is it cant be administratively lead, meaning the teacher or staff cant lead it.
