You betcha. One of the best pets around. That and the Yorkie. Sweet, protective dogs. Love em.. BUT make sure whatever dog you get that you spay or neuter them. There are too many unwanted pets. You can go to petfinder.org and rescue a homeless Maltese or Yorkie.

a Maltese is a great pet to have. As long as you properly socialise and train him he will be a wonderful, loyal little lap dog. Just remember you will have to be prepared to get him professionaly groomed every 6-8 weeks which can be costly.

I have two boys. They are brothers. They have the same mom and dad, but come from different litters. I loved the first one so much I had to go back to the same breeder and get another one......
They are the most wonderful dogs I have ever had. They have NEVER chewed on anything in the house. They act like little people. I swear they understand everything I say to them. I just can't praise them enough.
They want to do whatever you do. They are extremely social dogs. They love all people AND animals. REGARDLESS of what other people have said, they DO NOT shed. Not even a little..........They never smell bad, even when they are wet. They exercise themselves. I am serious, they go in the back yard and run around like fools in huge circles. Then they are finished. They do when they are alone too. When you watch TV, they do too. When you read, they are on your lap.
Don't get one if you want to keep it off furniture or not want a constant companion next to you. They want to be very close to you all the time. My youngest has a bed next to my computer and another bed next to my bed. When I am on the computer, he is that bed and when I go to bed, he moves to the other bed. The older has to sleep on your neck at night.
As you can see, I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. They are so human like. That is scary when you are getting to know them. As I said, they have never chewed a thing in my house. I am on oxygen 24/7. My hose in the house is 50 feet long. They have never chewed it, chased it, nothing. It is like they know they should not touch it and they don't .
If you ever have questions pertaining to them, you can email me.

Yes, they are sweet and very smart. With any breed of dog you must socialize them and make sure you're the boss and not to soil them too much. A little is fine! Don't forget a well behaved dog is always a welcome dog.
This is a breed of dog that you will have to brush and comb everyday unless you give them a short hair cut. Their hair is very fine and mats easily, they don't shed either. Good luck in finding your new furry best friend! Enjoy;^)

They are really cute, but they are cuter when they are mixed with poodles. Malti-poos are so cute. I have 3 of them. They are easy to train and very sweet and friendly. The only thing you have too make sure of is to constantly take them to get groomed.
