Are catholics the only people who pray to Saints? My catholic friend taught me how to pray to a couple of saints, and believe. But I don't agree with all of their beliefs. Do any other religions pray to saints?

Yes, The orthodox do. You need to understand that you pray through, not to saints. If you are asking them to put a "good word" in god's ear for you, then it is correct. Much like asking a pastor to pray for you.

Santeria pray to the Catholic Saints. However, they are just a guise for the gods of old African religions who they are really praying to.

For one, I don't believe people should pray to Saints. It doesn't say anything like that in the bible.

I'm not christian, but I once was for the record.

I know that Lutherans don't. Most other religions believe that praying to anyone other than God is bad. That includes saints, the Pope or the virgin Mary.

I don't know about that as far as actual Saints go but, I know that many Asian religions pray to their ancestors and I also know even if they do not actually pray to them they must believe in them because Lutheran and Methodists name their Church's after Saints. (Saint Mark's and so on)

Neither Catholics nor Orthodox pray TO Saints.

The say prayers asking the saints to intercede on their behalf. It is like asking a friend to ask a favor FOR you.

All Christians ask the saints on earth (their friends, family, pastor, etc.) for prayers of intercession. But most of them stop asking for intercession when the earthly saints become heavenly saints, and are in a far better place to intercede. Strange, huh?

I'm pretty sure Voodoo includes saints, but I'm not sure if they pray to them.
