The subject of death really is a personal one. It is hard to say what the norm is, as everyone is different. However, that said, it depends on how you choose to look at it. If you think the unknown is a bad thing, then death is definitely not for you :P. On the other hand, death is a part of life, death plays an extremely important role in the world (one example being evolution and the survival of the fittest).

Death is a reality of life. Everyone dies. According to the bible when you die, you will stand before God in judgment. He will flip through the pages of your life and give a final judging.

Here are His standards:
James 2 says that if you break one law, you're guilty of them all.
Punishment
Revelation 21 says that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire.

So if you have ever told a single lie your whole life, that makes you a liar, a law-breaker and punishment is revelation 21.

The reason for this is that God is SO pure and Holy that he can only accept perfection. Notice that the lake of fire is called the second death. The bible says that the soul that sins shall surely die.

So to demonstrate His love and kindness, God took on the form of man through Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, and walked a perfectly sinless life. Jesus' life was absolutely perfect in though, word and deed. A standard that you or I could never live up to.

Then Jesus went to the cross specifically to die as a payment for the sins of mankind. His death and shed blood on the cross fully pays for all of mankind's sins. His death paid for the second death mentioned in revelation, but the bible says that you must repent and turn from your sins, and then surrender yourself to Him and trust in Him as the only way to heaven. You have to humble yourself before your maker and ask for forgiveness and ask for help not to conintue sinning. If you do this, you'll be born again. You will pass from death to life, and you will become a new creation.

Then when you look at death you'll not have any fear as you do now because you are totally dependant on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross so you can be reconsiled to god and inheret eternal life, not eternal death.

So death is always a good thing. It is good for those in Christ because they will enter heaven because they are bad people forgiven by a good God, and they look forward to eternity in pure goodness.

And it is good that those who are in rebellion to God are tossed into the lake of fire because throughout all eternity all of creation will praise god for ridding it of all the criminals.

Well death isn't really a positvie or a negative...because you won't know the difference. Dying on the other hand, now dying is definitely bad because it's usually painful and you have to come to grips with the fact that you don't have much time left.

It is bad for the people who have done nothing but bad things in life because they will have to face God on judgement day with all of those sins.

For people who have done good in life, i don't want to say it's a good thing for them, but it's certainly not a bad thing.

Basically, death is the end of your life and your test and if you did good then you will pass and go to heaven. If you did bad, you will fail and be sent to hell. However, if you did bad, you can still fix your life but you have to hurry for you might die sooner than you thing.

My friend I encourage you to go to some chruch, or pick up a BIBLE. If you have Jesus Christ you would know that you never die, but this is the essentials of life. To some of us it will be a good thing, but if you are not saved by the blood of Jesus Christ the after life will be bad for you this is the truth.

I am a Christian, and all death is for me is a "transition", if you will, from earth to heaven. Death itself holds no fear for me. As Paul said:

Philippians 1:21 NIV
"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

None of us have experienced it, or talked to anyone who has. So, who knows? It could go either way.

My guess is that it'll be very similar to what it was like before you were born.
