I had the same problem. I LOVE coke and switching to diet has been incredibly painful as it's just never as good. If you drink multiple cans a day, let's say you drink 2, replace one can with a bottle of water. The more water you drink the better (with the added bonus that you'll feel full faster). If you really need a sweet fix, try mixing fruit juice with club soda and maybe some fresh berries.... consider it a low-calorie spritzer. Some of the diet sodas aren't horribe either...diet dr. pepper, diet polar sodas, diet sunkist... they're worthwhile. Best of luck, I completely sympathize.

I drink a diet soda maybe once every four months. I gave it up years ago when I wanted to lose weight and trust me, that was hard... I drank regular pepsi like it was water back in the day. Within two weeks of giving it up, I lost 6 pounds! No kidding.... JUST by giving up soda! And I never went back. I see people at my work drinking them throughout the day... they always have a big gulp or a can sitting on their desk and I often wonder how they can consume so many empty calories. Ugh... Soda is so bad.

There are 120 calories in a glass of sugared soda, compared to 0 or 1 for diet soda, and 0 for plain water. It's a good idea to read the nutrition labels of what you eat and drink so you can make healthy choices.
If you want to eliminate a LOT of calories in your diet, stop drinking sugared soda entirely. Also, ANY carbonated beverage, sugared or diet, contains phosphoric acid which leaches calcium from your system, and this is a very bad thing.

Are you drinking regular soda or diet soda? If regular soda, then yes if you stop drinking it you will lose weight. I would suggest to have a cup of coffee in the am, and then drink h2o or green tea. Your head will hurt like a sob, but eventually your body will stop needing the caffeine. Good Luck!

Well, as I looked at my can of Coke I noticed that it has 140 Calories and 50 mg of Sodium. It also has 39 g of Total Carbs and 39 g of Sugar. I suppose if anyone were to stop drinking it, they may lose a little weight.

Yes, it gets rid of several hundred empty calories a day to switch to water. if you must, drink diet instead, but limit yourself to one can a day. If you need to, just space it out over a couple of hours to keep yourself held over.
I'm sure there are other drinks you like that are better for you. Tea? Flavored water? Try Enviga, it's much healthier than soda but is still carbonated. Anything really is better than soda.
Good luck!

Regular (not diet) soda is loaded with high fructose corn syrup... the worst kinda sugar for you. If you drink a lot and cut it out of your diet you will probably notice weight loss. For more weight loss a more complete overhaul on your diet and added exercise will do wonders!

You do lose weight! Hm if I were you I'd find an alternative, like juice or flavored water. But if you want something carbonated like soda, try Perrier water. Good luck!
