Well, now that there are Blu-Ray and HDDVDs around, I fear that CDs will be gone soon. I have a lot of Data CD-Rs and I am continuously transfering them to DVD-Rs, But now there is Blu-ray...... and I heard that DVD-Audio will be promoted soon enough.... is this be the end of CD???

Technology evolves.
Nobody ships Floppy drives any more.
Eventually, people will be using HD-DVDs, and dedicated home storage devices. However, the CD has a few more years before it is gone and DVD drives can still read CDs.

Not for a long while...
Even though DVD's are out and being used for music in some areas as DVD-A....there is also SACD...super audio CD...which is a direct competitor to DVD-A.

SACD has been developed jointly by Philips and Sony..

Go here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacd to read more about it.
