I noticed her stupid "manners" question earlier and decided that everyone who is too young to remember or didn't follow history very well in school should know about her. In 1972, Jane Fonda and others traveled to North Vietnam to give their support to the North Vietnamese's Government. When she returned to the U.S., she advised the news media that all of the American Prisoners of War were being well treated and were not being tortured. As the POWs returned home in 1973, they spoke out about the inhumane treatment and torture they had suffered as prisoners of war. Their stories directly contradicted Jane Fonda's earlier statements of 1972. Some of the POWs such as Senator John McCain, a former POW, stated that he was tortured by his guards for refusing to meet with groups such as Jane Fonda's. Jane Fonda, in her response to these new allegations, referred to the returning POWs as being "hypocrites and liars."

Those of you who think that she was "young and naive" should realize that she was 32 years old when she fraternized with the enemy.

I don't feel that we should just let it go and move on when their are still Vietnam P.O.W.'s and veterans walking around who's lives were ruined by her actions. Michael Richards career was ruined after his actions at the Laugh Factory ...and he had to see a psychologist and embark on a national tour of apology. Jane Fonda continued on with her career and made lots of happy frilly movies while the veterans who came home to a nightmare of social upheaval, because of her actions, could barely scrape their previous existences together again.

Forgive and forget? I think not. Her lame apology was empty. She needs to go on a national tour like Michael Richards and beg and plead for forgiveness. Her career should be over, too.

Oh well, I knew that their would be some who didn't understand the impact of Hanoi Jane on society. Maybe you'll forgive and forget when someone else's cause hits a little closer to your lives. I'm sure you be singing the same song then.

Just to clear up any misunderstanding:

Freedom of speech: is the concept of the inherent human right to voice one's opinion publicly without fear of censorship or punishment.

In law, treason is the crime of disloyalty to one's nation. A person who betrays the nation of their citizenship and/or reneges on an oath of loyalty and in some way willfully cooperates with an enemy, is considered to be a traitor.

Jane Fonda is guilty, by law, of treason.

YES!!!! I Definitely agree ... and will ALWAYS Remember her Treasonous actions -- her "Aid and Comfort" to the enemy -- the way she TURNED HER BACK on our Honorable Servicemembers in those horrible POW 'camps' -- and everything else as well ...

ESPECIALLY since I am also a Military Retiree -- and my siblings are STILL Serving ... and also am the child of a paraplegic WWII Veteran -- and yes, we all have injuries inflicted in our HONORABLE Military Service.

I am HORRIFIED and APPALLED that this 'actress' would undertake to call those who SURVIVED the HORRORS of the torture ... "hypocrites and liars".

HOW DARE Jane Fonda ever say this about OUR US Servicemembers!!!!! This is the most selfish, me-first, amoral (ok, I am going to stop here -- I really WANT to be polite). She needs a SERIOUS 'reality check' -- because she lives in La-La Land for sure!

As for "Household Rules" -- MY Household supports and Defends the Constitution of the United States -- and we DO NOT BETRAY the country that has provided us the opportunities that we NEVER would have had IF our grandparents had remained in the 'old country'. We also do NOT provide "Aid and Comfort" to the ENEMY either! She deliberately coddled that despotic megalomaniac .. who went out of their way to inflict horrific tortures on OUR servicemen!

Why wasn't Lyndon Johnson held to blame for the fraudulent Gulf of Tonkin incident that led to his fraudulently securing the Gulf of Tonkin determination from Congress and for this reason sending the 1st conventional wrestle troops to Vietnam? Jane Fonda joined the national attempt to end this BOGUS conflict and she or he could on no account have traveled to North Vietnam and been photographed and filmed with the enemy, yet her mistake pales in assessment to those made by way of our elected president and his cupboard which resulted in the pointless deaths of hundreds of youthful infantrymen, lots of whom on no account even had the possibility to journey a actual courting with a woman or to journey what it replaced into choose to be a proud and loving verify. Jane Fonda entered the anti-conflict pass to resign this insanity and she or he made some errors in judgment, yet each and everything she replaced into attempting to do replaced into noble and being carried out in stable faith. it is elementary for fools such as you to attempt to heap the full blame for that conflict on the shoulders of only one guy or woman. do not attempt to place the blood of even one soldier on her palms! actuality TO skill !!!! bypass this message on on your jackal buddies.

People in America are free to have their own beliefs. That's why it's America. Besides, held accountable how? No one would put Jane Fonda in jail. Especially since The Vietnam War was such a disgrace for America.

35 years ago. She was young, she was naive and she has apologized repeatedly yet still there are people who just can't let it go. It boggles the mind.

I think "Hanoi Jane" should be prosecuted for treason. Her countrymen were being tortured and killed and she did a photo shoot with the enemy. I don't think there is a statute of limitations for treason.

I'm with you. I remember all too well. Why she wasn't tried for treason I will never understand.

I saw her stupid question, I'm trying to ignore it. I will never support any of her films.

She betrayed our POWs and our country and I will NOT forgive her for that, not ever. I don't care if they delete my account!

I often wondered if Jane would still think what she did was admirable to our servicemen who served and to those lost their lives in Vietnam..
We all have done things we are sorry for, 30 yrs or more have passed, time to let it all go me thinks ♥

I agree. She committed treason by the definition in the constitution. Richard Nixon wimped out on this issue. I think a long look should be given to Michael Moore for his trip to Cuba too. They are our enemy too.
