Be careful, the company most people are answering DOES NOT go by Safeway Inc. In the US they go by Safeway Inc. In Canada they go by Canada Safeway. It sounds to me likely to be a fake name sounding close to an existing company.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is! Here are questions I recommend

* Does the email or job posting direct you to contact an email address that uses a free webmailer (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc)?
* Does the recruiter have a website that matches the domain of the email address? For an email address like name@example.com there should be a website like http://www.example.com and it should be a recruiting company.
*How did they get your email?
* Does the company provide a postal address, telephone and fax number?
* Can you independently verify the postal addresses on a Google search?
*Try a google search with the name followed by scam or fraud
* Are the conditions too favourable ($30,000 per month salary, five star hotel accomodation)?

Maybe you're to good for the job, they won't give it someone that they know will get bored and leave in a couple of months, it's not worth their time and energy to train you. I got a polite "over qualified" turn down from a frozen food store in town, I was just looking for an easy going part time nothing of a job so I could work closer to home. As it is, I deal with tax primarily, but also serious complaints against a big organization, I go to court for them and all sorts. I would have done the job at the food store well though. It's annoying.
