Because you prayed a prayer?
Because someone told you?
Because you have some Bible verses taken out of context?
Because you go to Church?
Because you have a fish sticker on your car?
Because you wear a t-shirt with a Bible message?
Because your no different than others at your Church?
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

Powerful speaker. I have to agree with him. That is the same message I bring to answers. That saving faith.. Not just "Oh yeah I believe that" but saving faith that bares fruit. Still Jesus did the work that we couldn't do. He has the love for us that one one to have. It's only because of His work that we given the faith that saves.. Yes I said given because I am not able in myself to even produce saving faith. It's a gift of God.. I am shocked that the world is so rebellious, I am shocked that the Church seems to be so excepting of it. We love Christ but over 80% of the Church approves of a woman's "right" to murder her baby. We have "faith" but see nothing wrong with homosexual MINISTERS. We say we are going to heaven but find it easy to lie... I am not pure I hate the evil I have committed. I have and do fail to come close to my Lord daily and daily I have to come to Him and ask Him to cover my failure with the blood of Christ.. I will never be good enough not to have to do that. I get angry for no reason, I lie, yes even to myself. But Jesus does love and the Holy Spirit is there to show me why I need Him so much... What can I say you message is right on the money. I will remember to hold Him up in my life. I will pray in so doing that HE will draw all men to Himself... Jim

You know that old song that says. "He walks with and He talks with and He tells me I am His own" actually that is the only part that came to me, but thats pretty much how I know I am saved. He is always there with me through everything I have gone through. The good the bad. Years ago I was very lost in the world but he came into my life and He has changed me so much, He has cleaned my inside out of all the stuff I had collected through the years and I would never ever want to go back..

Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31–46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell.
"As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."
Salvation is an ongoing process, not a one time thing. There is no "once saved always saved"

I was an atheist before i got saved, nevder grew up christian, so all your points don't apply to me, I grew up Mormon. I alsmost died three times, realized I couldn't do it mayself anymore, realized I was a sinner, realized I needed God and he was real, confessed, and then I needed to find a chruch, said the prayer and got saved. Then I went to the church, reac the christian bible for the first time and not the mormon bible, put the fiss on my car, bought the bible message t-shirt, and the christian chruch is to differnat then the mormon chruch. big time.

I don't think many Christians can say that they know for sure they are saved. It's one of the reasons we need to keep trying and not just assume that once we accept Christ, we are in no matter what we do. That's what repentance is all about.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)
You can know if you are saved by the things written in Scripture.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)
You can know if you are saved by knowing where you are walking (spiritually). If you walk in the light (the light of the things written in God's word), then you have fellowship with other believers and you have the blood of Christ cleansing you from sin.
If you stop walking in the light, then you step out of fellowship with other believers (and with God) and you step away from the cleansing blood.
When you hear the gospel preached, recieve the Word with great eagerness and search the Scriptures to see if it is true! (Acts 17:11)
If something taught is in agreement with the Scriptures, accept it. If something taught does not come from the Bible, reject it. Demand Bible answers to all of your Bible questions!

I asked God to forgive my sins which I am sorry for and want to turn away from. I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart and be my savior. My name is written in the book of life.
