In Toronto where my nieces and nephew are going to school and where my Mom and Sister work in public schools, they definatly put an emphasis on tolerance of other religions..except Christianity.
They learn about Ramadan, Diwali, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and they can put up a menorah and paint their hands etc....but they have to call it the Holiday Season and not Christmas, and can not put a cross or the nativity scene in the school.
To me that is showing tolerance for other religions, but not Christianity. I think within the school system, either you teach about all the major religions, or none of them.

Not at all.
Not when I was in school. There were vague references to the Bible and God, but never an utterance about other faiths.
Not when my son was in school. In a science class, the teacher said that God created everything in six days. When I expressed a concern to the Principal about watered-down creationism being taught to 2nd graders in a science class... he told me I was being ridiculous. :) (We homeschool now, and his current school makes sure world religion is part of the curriculum!)
In both mine and my child's schooling, during the holidays, there were no Hanukkah songs sung, no menorahs drawn along side the Christmas trees (more of a pagan symbol, but..), and most definitely not a shred of Islam. No mention of zen Buddhism ever. I did not know about Shintoism until I lived in Japan. And oddly enough (in America) never a nod to Native American belief. And I never knew that there were people who didn't believe in any god. I was the first atheist I ever met lol
It's a shame really.

. How wonderful it would be if we learned about The Bible; The Talmud: The Koran etc. The sad thing is that it is prohibited to teach Religion in general in our schools. There is a great debate as to whether or not we should remove the words "under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance. Religion and religious differences are taught in Colleges and Universities as electives, not required subjects. In my opinion it is what divides us as a people.

No. I never heard anything about religion whatsoever when I was in highschool.
I wish there was a "religions of the world" class though to promote tolerance and understanding of our own and other cultures.
