Our Pledge of Allegiance says "One Nation Under God" I'm sure it's refering to the Christian God.

If you answer no, Should be throw the our Pledge of Allegiance away.

The Declaration of Independence second paragraph first sentence "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

What creator was he refering to? If it's God should we get rid of the Declaration of Independence also? The first paragraph actually mentions God.

Didn't the first people settle here because they wanted religious freedom?

The phrase "Under God" was not added to our Pledge until 1954. Until then, it was simply "One nation, with liberty and justice for all". The entire reason no specific god was mentioned in the Constitution was because our founding fathers had seen first hand the horrible things that accompanied a government which was not kept at arms length from religion. I'll leave you with my favorite quotes:

The Pilgrims are the Great American Fairy Tale . Legend has it that they were an oppressed religious minority who boarded the Mayflower, sailed across the Atlantic in late fall , landed at Provincetown Mass, had a vision what a sinful place it would become in a couple of centuries , got scared and sailed across Massachusetts Bay hitting Plymouth Rock in the process.
They then proceeded to create a community where they could worship as they pleased and that's where the story ends . No it doesn't because what they set up was an oppressive religious theocracy that demanded conformity in the extreme and exacted extreme punishment for those that didn't conform to the norm. The Pilgrims in effect did what a lot of revolutionaries do; they became their enemies. This is the historical backround of the First Amendment granting Americans freedom from religion. The only possible way that small -out -of- the mainstream religions would ever be allowed to practice as they saw fit is if the majority religion didn't have the backing of the State to enforce the majority religion's particular morality.Basically the US Constitution ended the coallition of the cross and crown on these shores
As far as the DI goes according to Jefferson, God acted an agent of Nature not the other way around
First sentence which is also the first paragraph " and to assume among the Powers of the Earth , the separate and equal stations to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entile them"
Jefferson was Deist who rejected all claims of miracles by Christianity , the trinity, Christ's divinity and his resurrection. A person who rejects those tenets is not a Christian.

I do wonder why the legal right to overthrow your government is a Christian value ? Where in the Bible does it say that?

In the DI right after the oft quoted "Pursuit of Happiness" phrase ;
"That to secure these Rights governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"
Hmm Government by consent ,It kind of throws the divine right of kings idea out the window doesn't it ?
The DI gets better
" That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of this Ends it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it ,and to institute a new Govenment "
The bottom line is this ; The opportunity to possibly create another formal Christian Nation was available and the Founding Fathers intentionall chose not to. For possibly the first time in history the leader of a nation was not required to pass a religious test as a condition of fitness for office. Amazing indeed

America's native religion is an Earth religion, practiced by the Native Americans. People say America was founded on Christian principles...but excuse me...there was already a thriving society here when the immigrants came. The Christians want to take over America but everyone else is fighting back, pushing for freedom of religon. So far we are winning against the Christians.

furthermore most of the decleration and the bill of rights are almost copied from the Iriquoi tribal council.

the "under god" was added to the pledge durring the cold wor to solidify americans against the "godless" communist country of Russia.

you mention that they settled for religious freedom..

would that religious freedom not include a Pagan Priest preforming a marriage ceramony for a Homosexual couple?

No, at least its not suppose to be. I am an American, but I am NOT a Christian, nor do I want to be a Christian. I am a Wiccan, and the fact that this country allows me the freedom of religion to pursue the religion of my choice tells me that America is NOT a christian nation.

The christians would like it to be...but until they can close every mosque, synagoge and other non-christian house of worship in the country it will not be a christian nation.

If you remember this country was founded on religious freedom. Freedom to worship who you want, how you want. We need to fight to keep it that way!

Yes. Regardless of how people chose to believe today, Our Country IS a Christian country. Look on the back of every piece of money we use in America. What does it say?

more ppl not like you need to take a turn to realize this too...and it would not hurt them to grow common sense...even the gov't falls back on there own words. so of course the country is backward...but it isn't just America...this world is chaos

Yes it is, that is who keeps morals in our country, listen to the unbelievers go at " we don't need a God we are to smart for a God"

I don't believe it is. Most people in America belong to no religion.
Churches are hardly filled.
