She has lost her # 1 driver, what do you think the future has in store for her and DEI now?

NY, she may not get Jr. back like you said if she merges with Ford, after all we all know that Jr. is a Chevy man.

Did DEI make a mistake? Yes. They should have given JR what he wanted. He said himself that DEI has fallen behind and doesn't even have some parts and equipment they need. DEI was having to use JR Motorsports equipment for some things!!!

Now what's in future for DEI? Well, both Paul Menard and Martin Truex Jr have said that they are going to stay at DEI. That's great news for DEI and Truex both. It's good for DEI because Truex is a great driver and it's good for Truex because now he's the top dog in the stable. He'll be getting the top notch equipment much like JR has been getting for a while now. We'll see what he can do with it..... I think a lot of people are going to be surprised.

DEI will hurt... but they'll be around. We'll see what happens with the merger with RYR. RYR has said he will only do Ford engines..... so looks like if that goes through, Ford will be on the front of the DEI cars. Any in reality, isn't that against the whole point of DEI?

Theresa Earnhardt is in a no win situation. No matter what she does, noone's going to like it. DEI was winning races before Jr ever got a ride, and will continue on in 2008. If you haven't noticed, there's been a couple of races where Martin Truex has run better than Jr. Truex is quietly having a good year, so far. Hope it keeps going. There's also no reason why Dale won't come back to DEI someday down the road. Both DEI and Dale will become better for splitting up.

Teresa has been in a no win situation ever since her husband hit the wall in turn four at Daytona in 2001!

She along with Dale, Jr. is in the shadow of Dale Earnhardt. Her every move has been second guessed. People complain when she does not come to races. People complain when she does come to races. Fans gripe that she does not know what is going on. They ***** that she is not interested in the sport. Then, when she makes a stand and Jr. walks away, she is the wicked stepmother from hell. Give her a break!

Teresa is the business mind behind Dale Earnhardt's commercial success. Without her, he would not have been anywhere near the rich man he was when he died. Dale, Sr. was the first Cup driver to copyright his name and likeness. Do you think he thought of that on his own? Teresa Earnhardt was the driving force behind the business while Sr. was the driving force behind the wheel.

I look for DEI to move on without Jr. Maybe they will merge with Yates. Maybe they will switch to Ford. Just the name Dale Earnhardt alone lends credibility to anything she wants to do. I know, I know, but before all of you haters jump on me about Earnhardt and Ford, let me tell you something. Dale Earnhardt drove Fords for a brief part of his career. Look it up. Worse things could happen. It is just a car brand.

Maybe the best thing she could do is just sell the whole thing out and take her millions and fade into obscurity. By the way, I think if that was what she had in mind, she would have done it long ago. She comes from a racing family, just like her husband. She is the niece of short track champion Tommy Houston. Racing is in her blood too. If she were going to walk away from racing, I do not think she would have waited six years and who knows how much hell to do it.

DEI will go on being a force to be reckoned with, Jr. or not.

I don't think they are as screwed as most people think they are. If they don't merge with Robert Yates Racing there is always outside investors. Plus, DEI is still in the Chevrolet camp. Don't get me wrong I think DEI will have a terrible year in 2008 with transition. However, eventually they will find their #1 driver and will advertise the heck out of him. I don't think NASCAR would let DEI die that easy and I don't think the fans would want it to die regardless of how much they don't like Teresa Earnhardt. Regardless, of what you might think of Teresea Earnhardt, her last name still means something to drivers and there will eventually be a big-name driver willing to drive for her.

In my oppion yes, but she knows what she is doing and has to live with her decisions just like everyone else. Dale Jr. had said in an interview that DEI was being run like a Shrine to Dale Earnhardt and not like a championship contender should be and until she sees that for the truth she has to live with it..

She'll get Dale the Snail back pretty quick now as she will find out that without a top driver DEI becomes only a NASCAR supplier and goes down hill quickly. The wicked stepmom always gets hers in the end.

Yes I believe she is making a HUGE mistake. Why would you allow a top driver like JR to get away from your team. DEI is screwed.

Well, old DW is a loud mouth but, I beleive what he said last night, DEI will be the moruge of nascar. They are on thier way out. Remember, the Yankees traded Babe Ruth for 2 minor leauge players and it took them 35 years to recover. Boston said that Michael Jordon would never be a star player and he beat the living s*** out of them for the next 15 years. So, Mrs. E is going to suffer financialy and will be looked at with distain.

Jr has every right to follow his own dreams. How long is he supposed to walk in his dad's shadow? DEI will do just fine, there are many great young drivers just itching for a break.

With out a doubt. I think the guys summed it up perfectly on Trackside tonight. She's not around but she can't give up the control. Plus, if the rumors that Truex will leave are true, she is in DEEP crap. Nothing against Menard, but as your #1 guy? They will be struggling to keep up with Morgan McClure!
