Like the person above said, please check whether you have the formula correct by having "=".

If it is there, you can press "F9" so that it will calculate all the formula inside the worksheet.

If you need to make it automatic, you can go to excel options and look for the formula tap and check on the option "Calculate Automatically". I have forgotten where the exact location is in Outlook 2003 and earlier since I am using Office 2007 currently....

Maybe someone else can help where the exact options are or I will give you an answer in 2 days time when I am in the office since it is weekend today.....

Edit:
Sorry for not replying earlier. The option is under Tools>>Options, choose "Calculation" tab and then check "Automatic" under Calculation category.

Hope that helps =)

Check to see if there is an equal to sign "=" in front of the formula. This tells Excel to process a formula.

Use a direct paste (Ctrl+V) rather than "Paste Special" from the "Edit" menu. If you prefer to use the "Edit" menu, click "Edit", then "Paste".

You are probably using "Paste Special" and then pasting as unformatted text. That will never let your formulas work.

All the best.
