People ask about evolution well what was before that and before that, Well what was before god. And don't give me some bullshit about him being allpowerfull and nothing was before him, There is always something before sometihg. Also how was god created. He was not just there something must have created him. Before you answer that he was just there ask yourself, "What about before that?"

The reason god exists is because we made him or her or it up to divert intillectual questions like why we are here and instead just put the pressure on something else (god)

Well, many people have other theories about how the world was created, but i mean, there must be some reason for believing in him, must have been something dating back because im pretty sure the majority of the world are christians, and how do we come to that conclusion?? ask yourself that.
Don't go asking questions that don't have a scientific explanation though, because we don't know everything!..that happened.
Although my belief is that God created the evolution or the 'big bang'. It's like asking a question on why are our body parts made up the way they are? Everything has a purpose except our appendix of course, but we can't live without our heart, we can't live without our lungs, or kidneys, or brain.
So that's why in the bible it says that we were created in the image of God. We were created like this to live on earth.

What if there was simply nothing before God. What if God came into being out of nothing. Does that seem possible. OK what if the cosmos is one big churning engine that has gone on since forever and what if in the big bang the rules of reality got so turned inside out that they created a living sentient being(God). When God realized he was alone he took it upon himself to create life. Why? Because he could.
To answer your question though at one point there must have been nothing and from nothing came something and from that something came something more. Simplistic but realistic.

The only plausible answer to your question is God was a self-created Being. Man, according to the theory of evolution, is also a self-created being.
What you need to understand and accept is the fact that God is beyond time and space. He was preexistent before the Big Bang which created time, matter and energy.
Peace and blessings!

Is there any point to answering this question? You seem like you have your mind made up. Since the idea that there is nothing before God is "bullshit" what else would you expect? I'm sure if there was someone or something that was around before God we would know about them right?

You sound like you're bright enough to read a book that addresses this issue.... on the NY Times Best Seller List for months.... The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Just finished it. Someone on here recommended it to me. Worth every dime.

There was nothing before God. He is the uncaused cause. He created time, space and matter. He is infinite. You can not have an infinite sucession of moments (in time) into the past because you would never be able to arrive at the present. ie God exists and has always existed.

You are pointing out the ultimate flaw in Aquinas' argument. He clearly states that all things must be caused, and that something must cause them. ALL things. Then, he switches up and says that there is one thing that was not caused. This is like saying everything that is blue is blue, except for one random blue that isn't really blue at all. This holds no water, and it may be the single greatest failure of logic that is actually accepted as true logic in the history of humans.

I'm sure you'll just pass this comment by without any real thought applied to it, but:
Humans created G-d, huh? Did it ever occur to you that humans ALSO created the concept of time? Time is artifical. Read some Albert Einstein and you'll soon realize this.
You're trying to apply a manmade concept (time) to something that is outside the confines of man itself (G-d).

Um, nothing was before that! God isn't a human he is something that our mind can't comprehend. He has been there forever and ever and he always will be. Nobody created him because there is no one more powerful or capable of doing what he does. God was always there and he always will be...

Saying "what was BEFORE God" is illogical. Because there wasn't any "BEFORE" in the beginning. Maybe this is why God is called "The Beginning and the End", "The Alpha and the Omega".
