I have 2 poems I want to enter in my schools poetic pogram which one is better?
RoseBud
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.
Tongues
We speak in tongues
Of different flavors
We build our societies
On each others labor
We are dark or light
And rich or poor
We worship different gods
And kneel on the floor
We killed our cousins
Because of their skin
We saw that without
And ignore that within
But regardless we sleep
Regardless we cry
Regardless we leap
And regardless we die
Take a less from Death
Treat all the same
Learn from Death
To remain humane

Entering both might be an option. If you have to choose one, I believe 'Rosebud' is the better choice. The metaphor is more memorable. You're a truly gifted poet. Good luck.

They are both very good, but I prefer the first for it's beauty and for it's insight to God's abilities compared to man's.
