Often. Yes, our society is based on consumption, and the idolization of the rich. The average person only wants money, so he can make others jealous. Maybe nobody can form their own opinions anymore, so they just borrow ideas from their parents and the mainstream media. Individuality just might be a disease, as is anything that makes you different, but at least we all stop to think about it sometimes.

The ones we see and hear about with that life style don't stop to think. I don't know if they will ever have any real consequences. The rest of us are in the background doing what's right, but sometimes it's very hard to have a conscience and do the right thing when everyone around you is enjoying life.

Very true. I myself try to see from a spiritual perspective. When I see materialistic, superficial, overindulging society today, I am surprised at the degradation of mankind. In wealth we may be superior to our ancient counterparts, but in genuine spirituality, we have failed. We must bring ourselves together and with a wise, unified outlook, banish this fierce plague.

I will be so glad when organized religion is exposed for the mythology and rip-off that it is.

people do think. They think only of themselves and the moment. They seem to have the 'eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die' attitude.

And neither of us will be able to change it. The Holy Sprit must touch the heart and soul of the person. And most don't really want the truth to begin with.

No I don't think they should.

Should it be based on fear and control instead?

If you aren't hurting anyone, don't worry about it.
