To be a man for others entails a great sacrifice. For me it's the single best thing to show one's love for God, by allowing oneself to be God's channel in doing good things and saving people from their miseries.

One word .......SACRIFICE. Sacrifice is what moves God to act. I don't mean go kill a cat or something like that, but abstinence, fasting and just giving things up that can be hard to do. This shows ultimate love and commitment to God. Also one should follow the commandments and participate in the Holy Eucharist, as Christ commanded us in the Gospels, notably John chapter 6.
