In my experience, after being reborn in the Holy Spirit, scripture suddenly becomes clear and more meaningful. What then is the purpose of analyzing the Word of God through a scientific lens, if all you need is the Holy Spirit?

If Christian Science is so far from God, why are people eating up the book "Sermon on the Mount" by Emmet Fox, the purported founder of Christian Science? BTW, that book really bothered my spirit - anybody else felt the same way?

Christian Science is unfortunately mostly a pack of lies and deceipt.

No matter how strong your faith is, there are still people who use God's name for personal profit and their own ego.

Most Christian science uses misquotes and misinterpretations to push the literal interpretation of the bible.
In one meeting a Christian scientist was quoting a researcher and that researcher stood up and said...No...you are misquoting me.

Do we really need to take a literal interpretation of the bible? For example, leviticus prohibits homosexuality....ok, good, but it also lets us keep slaves, as long as they come from another country. So keep the faith, go out and enslave a Mexican today, they won't mind, they are most Catholic.

Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910) pioneered new ideas about spirituality and health. Inspired by her own experience of healing in 1866, Eddy's spent years in Bible study, prayer, and research into various healing methods. The result was a system of healing she dubbed Christian Science in 1879. Her book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, broke new ground in the understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection.

As the first one to answer your question has pointed out, Christian Science is neither Christian nor Science.

It is a false cult.

that is totally a threat that "technology" became began by making use of christians, or extra wisely, the scientific technique became rationalised and formalised by making use of christians. yet while that's the case, that is because of the fact of two reasons. one million. just about anybody became non secular. to not be non secular especially the religion in power on your region became particularly risky. The church could and did kill all people they deemed as a heretic. 2. Many early scientists have been in fact working for the churches, with the intention to make certain extra approximately God. while their conclusions have been inconsistent with the church's innovations, it back grew to alter right into a unfavourable subject for the scientist to launch his findings except he discovered a thank you to "water-down" the unreligious content fabric. subsequently, you had a church who ought to proclaim itself to be supported by making use of scientific technique, and it became merely some brave persons, who ought to not enable themselves to succumb to psychological fraud, who revealed their findings and suffered the outcomes (Galileo, as an occasion.) in present day circumstances, while non secular persecution (it quite is, persecution by making use of the non secular, as adversarial to persecution OF the non secular which especially merely happens interior the twisted fantasies of fundamentalists) has been very much decreased, and technology has come to the fore, technology has, without ever aiming to be anti-non secular, shone mild on lots of the "information" that the non secular have claimed, rendering all religions in fact redundant.
