I know I was when I was in my teens, It used to freak me out, the thought of nothing, as I didn't believe in God then and I was an atheist in my thinking of death as the end, thats it, zilch, nothing.

When I turned to the Lord in my early twenties the fear of dying left in an instant that I became born again. I just wondered have you had the same experience.

No, here's why: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;

But of power, and of love, and a sound mind."

What scares me about dying is what if I go too young? I just want my kids to be adults, married, with careers and families of their own before I go. I don't mean this to sound at all like I'm some big deal, but a mom is like the center of a kid's universe and if either of my parents had died when I was a kid, it would have had a profound effect on my feelings of security. I don't want to do that to my kids. I want to grow old and experience all aspects of life. I want to have the chance to make a difference in other people's lives. Heaven is forever so hopefully it can wait until I've finished doing whatever it is I'm supposed to accomplish down here. I do look forward to seeing the people I have lost. That will be sweetest thing. Also, I think there's lots of chocolate in heaven.... = ) When I was younger, like a teenager, I was more scared of death. I had a faith life back then too but it was scarier for some reason. That's kind of backwards when you think of it because teenagers also tend to feel invincible.

I'm not afraid of dying, but it has nothing to do with my religion. It has everything to do with my perspective on life in general. Life is meant to be lived on earth. We are given God's calling while we are here. I enjoy every moment that I live and I celebrate my life. I know that part of life is death. The cycle comes to a close, but that doesn't scare me. That is simply a part of things.

Me myself as a christian...I am not afraid to die at all! I cannot imagine the happiness that will be found in Heaven. I don't worship God because I am afraid to die, nor did I start worshiping God for that reason! I have a personal relationship with Him and once you feel Him and He works in your life you will understand what I am saying. There is no words to explain the Love He has shown me or that I have for Him. He is my Father! He saved my life!

Amen brother! I had that experience before. It's the Lord who brought me out of fear of dying. Now I just say, "Lord, if this is my time to go, take me O Lord!" God Bless You!

I don't think that religion has much to do with fear of dying. I think there are very few people in the world who do not fear death, hence all facets of the insurance industry - your purchases are a bet that something WILL happen to you.

I don't think christians are afraid of dying as long as they rely on their god to forgive all the sins they have committed thus far. Whatever makes you feel good specially in your time of death, go for it, just leave the non-christians alone.

I'm not afraid of dying, because I know I'll be with the Lord but I'm just afraid that the last thing i do before i die is a sin.

It's a natural feeling to fear death in your learning years, that's the survival instinct kicking in!! This how ever diminishes with time. When you have reached what may appear to have been your formative years, you now need to look for your next horizon grab!! any way i ain't got an awfull amount of time here so time may runout?? ,,,,,,,,,,,it has.
