I've known a few people named chikis but don't even know why they were called that...
it's spanish word or name?
Like I know chuyito/chuy is another name for someones who name is Jesus.

The one I know has it as a nick name for Hector.

I'm pretty sure it's just a nickname. At least it is for someone in my family who has been called that since she was a baby. But in her case it's, "Chiquis" for "Chiquiada," meaning "spoiled" or "pampered."

It's a nick name. It's short for chiquita (small or little girl).
