Lately, whenever I have wine, the skin on my arms, chest, & neck get blotchy and itchy. This starts after half a glass....is this an allergy? I'm almost 28 and have never had this problem before. I've never been a heavy drinker, but I used to be able to tolerate 2-3 glasses without any problems.

actually i don't think i've had the same reaction to smirnoff triple black...i believe that's a malt beveridge....maybe i should stay away from wine.... :(

Yes you can, but its not so much the alcohol, but the process in making, the ingredients, such as preservatives, tannins, colourings etc.

Sounds like it, yeah. Allergies can develop in adulthood.
It could be an allergy just to the compounds in wine---does it happen with other spirits?

It might not be the alcohol. It could be the Fruit or Grapes in the wine.. Try a beer see if it still happens.

This happens to my brother in law when he drinks Vodka, I think it is some sort of allergy.

go to an allergy specialist, it could be the grapes.
