I'm interviewing for a nursing internship position w/a local hospital on Monday.

I have no idea what to wear - I went shopping and everything seemed inappropriate.. I feel silly wearing a full conservative suit cause I'm not a lawyer or anything, but I'm full sized (16) and can't wear a lot of various fashions. The only suits that I find make me look like I'm 60 (I'm 28) and all the outfits that I find are more casual..

what's a happy medium? Young and stylish, but conservative enough for a job interview?
I've tried NY and Company, Kohls, Target, (did I mention I was on a budget?)

Dress Professional - You can visit the employer ahead of your meeting and see what other people are wearing or visit www.yahoo.com (JOBS) or www.monster.com (JOBS) to get some additional ideas and GOOD LUCK! :-)

I myself am a size 18, with curves. It's really, really hard to find an outfit (on a budget) for our figure. I dress casual most days (jeans and tees) but for a job interview, or a more formal event, I found it's best to wear black slacks, low heals, and a button up shirt. It's really a good idea to try on a whole bunch of different styled shirts. If you are not used to "dressing up", you may have to go outside your comfort zone a little and try on shirts that you may not think is "your style". You may find a perfect match! Be adventurous, because it can be a bit upsetting sometimes in that dreaded dressing room. Try to have FUN! JC Penny and other department stores may be your best bet to find a nice top. Try shirts with "seams" in the side...which will allow you to hide the "bumps". You may not have to invest a lot in the "outer wear", but really invest in some great "under wear". By this I mean the great "sucker her in" granny panties. Try the ones with a high waist, so that it hold you all in...all the way to the bust area. You may also try Fashion Bug, if you have one near you.

Good Luck! I hope this helps!

You need to wear something nice but you don't need to wear a suit by any means. Khakis or black pants and a button up shirt. For Kohls, it would be good to wear something nice that looks like you could purchase at the store. Just some tips: 1. Make sure you iron your shirt and pants 2. Pull your hair away from your face. If you have long bangs, pin them back. If you have long hair in general, you might pull it up or at least halfway back. 3. Wear close-toed shoes. 4. No boobs or tummy showing. Hope this helps!

Wear something much lighter and brighter. Lightly tailored with a long jacket. Light hose, closed toe shoes, no sandals, hair penned back.

Better yet; hang out in a hospital and watch the nursing folk walk by or a local doctor's office. Everyone doesn't wear scrubs.

Just wear something that looks fashionable but not sleezy or too revealing. I think short pumps with a nice A lined sun dress is cute, and is very much in fashion now.. look current and attractive and in control of yourself. Don't wear spaghetti straps. My work is clamping down on us.. we are to step it up and wear nice things.. and they stressed no spaghetti straps or anything revealing.. they want professional all the way.. Capris pants are as cute as can be.. and comfortable. Maybe find a nice cowl neck short sleeved top to go with it..
Hope this helps..

Try buying a nice blouse with a good pair of slacks - a suit is not that important for this type of interview - in terms of stores,
how about The Gap, H&M, Macy's.

Dark color skirt, light shell top, and a dark longer looser jacket type sweater that ties at the waist. Creates curves and looks professional. The slim light stripe down the middle will make you look slimmer.

Try Goodwill...

You can wear a very nice spring dress or casual pant suit. Have you tried Loehmann's?
