honestly hun go see your primary care provider. this sounds like GAD, or generalized anxiety disorder, from this LIMITED history you have given me. there is a much more divulged history that is best given to your doc, NP or PA. if there is something in particular you know that provokes it, avoid it at least until you see the primary care provider. but def get evaluated. you don't want something like this ruling your life. they might send you to get psychotherapy (works WONDERS) and may give you a prescription. if they give you a benzodiazepine (more then likely xanax), be wary! this is addictive!!! this should only be for breakthrough attacks! SSRIs, seratonin reuptake inhibitors, work wonders for GAD. and they are all different so find the one that works best for you (most respond to paxil although it does have some insomnia side effects). and like i said, avoid triggers if at all possible (sometimes triggers are unavoidable, but we deal with them as they come). relaxation and exercise also helps a lot of people cope. exercise and doing things you enjoy release seratonin and that is what we want! hope you feel better soon!

you might have panic attacks
which could be caused from too much carbondioxide in your blood, which could be caused from too many breaths per minute. normal breathing at rest would be 12-15 breaths per minute. taking an extra one can increase the level of CO2 in your blood and cause you to feel anxious or panicky and could cause your fast heartbeat.
to help with the feeling, try some square breathing
like: take a breath for 4 seconds, hold it for 4, exhale all the air in your lungs for 4, and hold the emptyness for 4
do a few cycles (I do 3-4 whenever im feeling nervous)
it works by controlling the CO2 in your blood so you dont feel as panicky. If you feel like this all the time, talk to your doc and see if you can do anything without drugs first (you dont really want to take drugs unless you have to) like maybe changing your diet or maybe you are just overstressed. Whatever helps!

ya, I have that too. I was so convinced I was having a heart
attack and dying , I went to ER..got hooked up...only to be told everything was fine...they knew I had a history of panic /
anxiety attacks...they gave me something to calm me..and I
was fine. It's pretty scary to feel that, you have no control. But
seeing a therapist will greatly help you to cope better and perhaps find out the root cause of the problem. But I have to
take meds, to help me. Plus counseling. Good Luck to ya.

You may be experiencing symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder-a very common problem for folks. It might also have a component of a panic attack. Check out those 2 diseases online and see if they describe what you are feeling.
Treatment is just around the bend!

Anxiety attacks. I remember when I was like 13 and the perception of what death really means kind of sinks in and I was freaking out all the time. Reading the bible helped me in my situation. I would say when this happens focus your attention on something you enjoy doing to distract you.
