I've got a 6 CD changer and need to hook up it's power cords. one needs to have power constantly, the other should only have power when the ignition is on (12 VCD). Anyone ever done this? I got a stock ford head unit. Should the constant power one hook to the battery?

Since you usually have to make connections behind the radio anyway when installing a CD changer, I typically just tap the constant and accessory power wires into the matching wires behind the radio.

You can get little adapters and tie in to your fuse block check with test light which has power on all the time or you can hook right to battery should be fuse at the battery then
