Genesis 1:3 Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Read a little more in Genesis, a key phrase is "And it was good". Reference listed below. Look in the front of any Bible.

It never says why he said that phrase. Also doesn't mention who he was talking to. :P
Illogical things are in the Bible because it was written by illogcal, superstitious people.
Think about it. Anything that's perfect (and few Christians believe in an imperfect God) is lacking nothing. Therefore, a perfect being would desire nothing. Therefore, it makes no sense for a perfect God to have created anything (which presupposes that he had the DESIRE to create).
Even ignoring that HUGE contradiction, God shows all kinds of emotion (God cannot have emotions if he is omniscient) in the Bible, even committing capital sins (he admits to being jealous/envious of people worshipping idols, which is where the first commandment comes from) and breaking his own commandments (even counting ONLY the instances where specific numbers are given, one can count over 2.25 MILLION people killed by God or killed by other people at God's direct order; check source for proof of this)!
This is only scratching the surface. The Bible is full of stuff like this!

If he created the light and the dark (which it does say in the bible) then why didn't he say let there be light and dark... maybe he thought that sounded too similar to thanksgiving turkey?
Or is it possible that this bible book was written by men, and the character of god needed a voiceover to promote the shows dramatic aspects.

This statement can be found in Genesis 1:3-5. This is the first time we are told that God spoke. These are his first words recorded in the Scriptures.

When god concept was born as he came out of the birth canal sun was in his eyes. The concept grew and the myth of the reality was almost believable. I was a real experience given extra special meaning. I wonder what would have happened if god were born at night.

God's Light created this universe....let there be light, here where there was darkness. It doesn't really say why God said this, but we can see the results, whether it came from Big Bang, or other.....

Because He, like many, desired understanding. Haven't you ever said to yourself, 'Please, let me understand.(let there be light)
'And God saw the Light' This verse tells me that He, like many, found understanding.
"..what made God decided to make U N I verse."
The Universe wanted to be born (just like you). God simply set it free from within himself.

In Genesis God is creating, He tells us that water covered as well as darkness. It is with the creation of the sun that light appears.
