I get my exercise through bicycle riding, but I can only ride between May and September because of snow. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a bike stand that would allow me to ride indoors year-round. Preferably something that is inexpensive and easy to make.

Lots of products on the market for this.
you can get a stationary trainer that will fit just about any bike (you might have to change skewers I know Rolf skewers don't fit a lot of trainers) If your looking at trainers go with the fluid type, these are the best and worth the few extra bucks you will spend. Same thing I tell everyone who asks about trainers, don't have to go top of the line, but don't go bottom either. And you may want to get a cheap rear wheel so you can swap it out when you ride on the trainer, if you don't you will burn through tires like crazy. I am able to get used tires that people won't ride on the road anymore from my L.B.S. Another option is rollers, but this is for experienced riders, they take a little practice as there is nothing to hold you up like on a stationary trainer.
Good luck.

Performance bike has great deals on "trainers." They have several major brands as well as their own brand which I think are very good values. Some are on sale now for as low as $89.

Can you just buy one? Or how about using a stationary bike instead?
