Every Taurus after 1996 includes a stock amplifier, which is combined with the radio tuner. There are no speaker or antenna connections behind the factory head unit. The amplifier is located in the trunk, mounted under the trunk liner on the back of the driver's side wheel well.

Ford doesn't publish a power rating for the standard audio system, but my guess would be around 15-20 watts per channel into 4 channels.
