Does anyone know the history behind these masks? I'm curious because I have a pretty one in my room. Does it have any religious or spiritistic meaning behind it?

As far as I can see there isn't any religious or spiritistic significance to the masks, and they were simply used to hide the owners identity at parties. It does look like the parties and festival's had a fairly subversive nature, although that's it and as a form of decoration I wouldn't worry too much.
