No
God doesn't do anything. He doesn't exist.
That's all just superstition.

I believe that everything belongs to God, including my money. I am a steward of it. All He asks is my 10% - and the willingness to give where He is asking me to give. When I do that, I have experienced how my money is always enough for my needs, and those needs that exceed my income still manage to get filled.
When I felt God leading me to go to a year long program at church, my mom received $7000 that she had no idea existed right at the time I needed that amount.
On the flip side, I took a 2nd job and calculated that it would be more than enuf to pay off my credit card, then I forgot about tithing during that time, and I hardly made a dent in my debt. God's accounting doesn't really make sense sometimes, but in my experience, He provides what you need when you are faithful to Him with your money.

Good Q. At my old church we were encouraged to give to the church, even if we didn't have much at all. And people would stand up and give their stories about how they had given their tithe (10%) to the church even when that meant they wouldn't have enough food to eat that week, and God had blessed them by providing other money for them (for instance, from a friend).
When I used to give more than I really could (wisely) give, I didn't see myself receive money back. But I think God was blessing me in other ways (being generous, but not financially). I think people should give (wisely) what they can, without expecting money (or anything else) back, they should just give.

The bible has a quote, somewhere. Proverbs maybe? That says the generous man, there is no end to his wealth (meaning, God provides for you, the more you give to others). It also says the opposite, those who are stingy will never have enough.
Mary (above) is right. Our deeds of giving should be because we desire to give, not to get in return.

Yes, and many times over. Tithe is 10%, offerings are above the tithing. Blessings come from the offerings. : )

We have a right to action, it is God that determines the fruit of that action.
If you plant an acorn, you get an oak tree that bears thousands of acorns every year for hundreds of years.
If you plant a grain of corn, you reap hundreds of grains of corn.

yes, I don't ever like to piss God off because I am afraid of the repercussions. However, God has been totally blessing my life since I have followed him

Although God promises us rewards and blessings. We must not do the good deed just because we want to be rewarded. Only because we love and care
