Baby Shower Games Ideas?

My friend is having a baby shower coming up. And she asked me to help her find new, fun and unique baby shower games. So that her guest will have a great time. The shower will be co-ed (Both men and women) will attend. And ideas or suggestions??

I have some suggestions....

For EVERYONE....do a onesie decorating activity. Cover a table not being used during the shower with an old crib sheet (go to Goodwill and find one with a fun design!!). Then set out plain white onesies (WalMart sells good BABY CONNECTION ones....5 for $10.00....and they are pretty good quality, you'd be surprised!!).

Now set out paint and paintbruses and sponges and fabric pens.

Each of your guests can decorate a onesie at the beginning of the shower (while everyone is waiting to arrive?). What a fun item for the new family to have!! Custom onesies made by the people that mean the most to them!! A lot of fun!

Letters to the Baby

On the gift table have some nice baby stationary set out with a couple of great pens. Ask your guests to write a note to the baby....their wishes, hopes and predictions!! After the shower place these in a binder or scrapbook for the new parents to enjoy now and baby to enjoy years down the road!!

For something REALLY different at the shower.....instead of traditional baby themed games....HOW ABOUT A POKER TOURNEY??? Buy in would be a package of diapers! The winner of the tourney gets a generous gift certificate to a great place you choose!

This would also be a great activity for the men to do while the women are opening gifts and playing the baby-themed games!! You could call it Betting on Baby.....or something fun like that!!

1. Do a web search for famous babies ( and do trivia of famous babies)

2. Take a roll of toilet paper have everyone tear off what they think will go around her (the one that comes the closest without going over inches/footage wise wins)

3. Take newborn diapers mix peas, creamed corn, etc together (make a list for the answer, so you will remember what the hecks in there) have everyone look at the crap you put in the diaper and they make a list of the stuff they think the baby ate....(the one the gets the most correct wins)

4. Stuff a baby bottle full of stuff; q-tips, baby spoon/hairbrush/comb, baby pins (teeny tiny stuff), cotton balls, bandaides, baby teething toys, etc....and have everyone try to guess how much crap you stuffed in there (the one closest without going over wins)

5. Get a big bowl (BIGGEST you can find, even a plastic tub) take a pan of really watered-down-milk (fill the pan up all the way, place empty bottles in the tub also w/nipples.....(about 4-5 bottles)....and have everyone take a turn blind-folded making bottles with it (see who can get the most in the bottles, or the most completed bottles with the bottle filled & lid & nipple on the bottle)


6. Take a life size baby doll stripped; put diaper/wipes/powder/clothes buy the baby in the zipped diaper-bag....have a timer and race getting the baby changed & clothed. ( the one that does it the quickest , with the best dress & diapered bootie wins)

The toilet paper game. Everyone rips off a big piece of toilet paper and whos ever fits your preggy tummy the best wins a prize. Also a lady said yesterday that you put a chocolate bar inside the diaper, and everyone has to smell it, and who ever guesses the kind of chocolate bar wins, like butter finger, almond joy, etc. It's really funny seeing all these people sniffing a diaper. The other one I know is you get a tray and put like 8 items on it, clippers nose sucker themomiter, baby items and whoever guesses all the items wins a prize. You put a towel covering the items and give everyone a 30 second peek. My fav game is what is in your purse game. If you have the most of one item you get a prize, keys on your key ring, makeup, lotion, credit cards, shopping cards, family pictures, money, etc. It's a really fun game that will give alot of people a chance to win. Also you can get baby nicnacs at a dollar store for prizes. Good Luck

The New Parents Game
Before the shower, ask the mom- and dad-to-be questions such as, "When is your birthday?" "Where were you born?" Divide the guests into tow teams, the "pink" team and the "blue" team. Pink team answers questions about the mm, blue answers questions about the dad. Correct answer earns 1 point. The team with the most points wins.

Word Play
The mom-to-be will soon have old parenting adages like "Because I said so!" rolling off her tongue. Come up with a list of other sayings and make them into acronyms (for example MDGOT! {Money Doesn't Grow On Trees!}). Quickest answerer gets a point, most point wins (or alternate scoring, everyone writes down guesses and most right at the end wins).

What's in the Bag?
Place several baby-related items (for example, bottle, rattle, pacifier) into separate brown paper bags. Staple the bags closed and number them. Players may shake, but not squeeze, the bags to determine what's inside. The player who gets the most right wins.

Rock-a-Baby
Divide guests into teams and challenge each team to write new lyrics to the tune of a familiar lullaby. Provide each team with a tape recorder or CD player, pen, and paper. When finished creating new lyrics, each team performs its song for the mom-to-be. Award prizes for the funniest lyrics, the best performance, and so on.

I went to my brother's, girlfriends baby shower and they had this really neat game. They bought a pack of newborn diapers and a variety of chocolate candybars. Then they squashed the candy bars and put them in different diapers and numbered the diapers so they would know which type of candy was in which diaper. Then they handed around the numbered diapers and had all the guests smell and look inside. Then people had to write down which candy bars they thought were in which diapers. The one who guessed the most correctly won a prize!!

one thing that you could do is have everyone write down when they think the baby will be born, boy or girl, weight and length. the mother-to-be keeps all the answers and whoever gets the closest gets a prize. but every one has to guess by looking at the mother-to-be (no doctors info) also you could get some streamers and pass it around everyone rips off how much they think it would take to wrap it around the belly going over the belly button who ever gets the closest without it overlapping gets a prize. i did both of these at my babyshower and everyone thought it was really fun. good luck.

Melt squashed candy bars, and put them in numbered the diapers so you can know which type of candy was in which diaper. Then they handed around the numbered diapers and had all the guests smell,taste and look inside. Then people had to write down which candy bars they thought were in which diapers, next to the number on the page(it helps alot if you print a page off of word, with underscores[ _ ] for lines).

Dress the baby = U get a partner, one is the baby n one is the parent. see who dresses the baby the fastest. Need: Clothes n big dipers

We had men and women at my shower, and we filled baby bottles up with root beer, and had the guys suck it down, in a race type fashion, whoever one got a prize. it was a blast. way funny. another one is to see how fast a guy can change a diaper on a doll. hillarious.

Do the jelly bean jar game...Put a jar of Jelly beans or something baby related and have them guess how many are inside. You can have a little box sitting there with a square pieces of paper..have them, write their guess and their name on it. At the end, do a drawning and the person closest gets a nice price.
