Nope. An AKC registration is for tracking the linage of the dog. So if you can't prove linage then no registration. The AKC was originally founded so that if farmer Brown's *****, that had a great reputation as a hunting 'coon dog, was sired by farmer Green's male that also was well renowned as a great hunting dog the puppies would be guaranteed to be from that mating. Then farmer Brown could not sneak in a mating of his ***** with a lessor quality male and pass it off as being from farmer Green's dog. So you ask, how is the AKC to know? They check, they would ask farmer Green if his dog sired the puppies of farmer Brown and today they would require DNA testing.

Basically that is what the AKC does and what the registration guarantees. It doesn't guarantee any special quality in a dog nor does it mean the dog is free from genetic defects. If the dog is going to be a pet then you should be responsible and have it spayed or neutered and not worry about any stinking "papers"!

No, well not and get a "real" registration. For AKC registration, dam, sire and litter must all be registered.
AKC can/will issue an ILP but the dog needs to be altered in order to obtain it.
Continental Kennel Club will register anything with 4 legs. Doesn't mean the dogs SHOULD be registered however, just means they will do it if you send them the $$. The registration really is not worth the paper and postage.

Both parents AND the litter must be registered with the AKC to register your pup.
All the other registries in the U.S. are bogus.

The only regisdtration you can get is what I call "mutt papers" even if he is pure bred if the parents don;t have papers. The mutt papers are not worth the cost of getting them. Just love your little one for what he is.

No. Both parents need to be registered, and there's before them, etc., etc.
