Interesting question. I could go either way with it. Some guys are really really hot without them and the pure masculine look of ripe muscles is a huge turn on without any distractions. But at the same time, a less buff guy has a bad boy, come get me look with tattoos that suite a personality. It really depends on the person and the tattoo. I love asking someone about what it means if it isn't your typical tattoo or just want to talk to him or her even. I think unique personal expression is sexy. Funky hair cuts and colors, piercings, clothing style that isn't intimidating, and tattoos. I want to get another tattoo but I don't have any money right now :( Oh well, I guess I will have to wait! Love the question!
Edit: There is NO need to judge someone as trashy, bum, or any other cruel and unjustified name just because of a tattoo, piercing, or hair color/cut. That is very shallow and close minded in my view.

I love tattoos and piercings on a guy, but only if they are tasteful and they dont have heaps of metal hanging out of their face. I used to work at a road house years ago that was on a popular tourist route, the amount of gorgeous, buff foreign men that used to come thru shirtless(it was a warm area all year round, yay), with a shoulder or shoulder blade or chest tattoo and maybe a nipple peircing or 2, ahhh, i used to have to go and stand in the walk in fridge for a while just to cool down.
I think a nice tattoo or piercing can enhance an already gorgeous looking guy, since my husband and i have been together he has since gone from a cleanskin to a nipple pierced, tattooed sexy guy.

the number of tattoos a man has really has nothing to do with how attracted I am to him. That doesnt mean you should go out and get a full body tattoo or stay as far away from the tattoo parlor as you can. just do what YOU want and a quality girl will appreciate it.

Would depend on the tattoo and the person. Tats done in the right way can be sexy, but too many is just too many.

If we're talking purely physical attraction, and it's good art, then I find a woman with ink more attractive than one without. It's a pretty shallow thing for me to say, I'll admit, but I promise physical is at the bottom of my list.
Side note: the question is only aimed at straights. I'd be curious to see the answers from a more expansive audience.

I'm not saying it makes a guy more attractive, it's just that my heart tends to beat faster when a guy has tattoo's lol. My fiance has tattoo's and once he realized I have a umm small "fetish" for them, he went and got his forearms covered LOL. I would have BEEN had tats by now but geeez can we say expensive!?!? Here's to hoping I spend my 21st Birthday in a Tattoo parlor :D
