i do not have a strong stomach when it comes to dairy foods, but once in a blue moon i do like ice cream(chocolate). for some reason when i am eating ice cream, i have to have water. i have been like that for years. i usually drink a full bottle if not more when i eat it! strange i know. does anyone out there have the same thing? i wonder why i am like that!

Ice cream has alot of salt in it,so it can make you thirsty.More so if you make homemade ice cream. I love ice cream.

I know a lot of people who ask for water when they eat ice cream. Ice cream makes me thirsty and water does taste good with it for some reason...maybe it has something to do with the high sugar content??

Probably everybody does, as the amount of sugar and salt in ice cream causes you to be thirsty. It makes your mouth dry and you always would like something wet to sorta wash it down.

I am in the same boat. I always assumed it was the sodium content in the ice cream. Se the link below. Some brands have a much higher content.

its sugary so it makes you thirsty try drinking water more often during the day like not just after you eat ice cream

The most likely reason is that your body needs help dealing with the sugar in the icecream, so you might want to get your doctor to check your blood sugar level as you might be on the verge of diabetes.

it may be the cream leaving a pasty feel in your mouth... eat less ice cream, drink more water... its better for you!!
