If you said no to this- then why do you think you are more important than God?
I see so many questions on here pertaining to pride, and how many think they deserve better, and they put themselves above God.
We are the ones who should be obeying and honoring GOD! Just like our children should obey and honor us! He is our Heavenly Father! And when our children obey us, they are immediately obeying God, for that is what God calls children to do (Ephesians 6:1)

And we should be obeying our Father God! Not being rebellious and full of pride....

And that, my dear, is why satan got kicked out of heaven in the first place.

Yes kids should obey parents.
Yes God deserves honor as the Only God (Father).

Children should be spoken >with< (not to or at) on an "age appropriate" level. They require guidance at times (who doesn't?), but should be allowed to find out things for themselves -- as long as they do not harm themselves or others and treat everyone with the same respect you would -- IMHO.

In my child's life, I AM more important than God, for if I do not provide for my child, they will cease to exist through God's will (as everything that happens IS God's will). Their life was entrusted to me, by God, and, while others may not view or accept the responsibilities, I take it very seriously.

Does that mean I raise my child in a manner acceptable to you? No, I raise them in a manner acceptable to me and my interpretation of God's word and wishes. :)

unfortunately, they do not believe in God the father. This is truly sad. God is a real father. Our own fathers,as beautiful as they can be are only a pale shadow of the true father.

Flawed argument: presupposes the existence of the judeo-christian god.

I do tend to put myself above fictional characters; you've got me there.

Did you know that there is a difference between your beliefs and the objective truth?

Did you know that not knowing this makes christians seem incredibly unintelligent and narrow minded?

Did you know that your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods?

I don't think I'm more important than God, because I don't even think he exists.
