Ok check engine light means something is not right. Auto-Zone and other auto parts stores will do it for free. However write down the code/s and freeze frame date for futrue reference, if the light comes back on....Clear the code and wait if there is a problem even as simple as a loose gas cap the light will reappear.

The only way I can think of is taking it to a Nissan mechanic and have them run a scan of the ECU.
This will show any trouble codes that are present, and let the mechanic know why the check engine light is on, and hopefully beable to fix it for you.
As you know, the check engine light goes on when there is a problem that the ECU found as in letting you know that it should be checked out by a mechanic.

If you take the battery cables off for 15 min. then the computer will reset itself. If this does not work then take it to autozone they will put it on the computer and tell you what is wronge for free.

there should be a PCM fuse in the car.pull this out for 10 mins and insert it again.
